The question is why Jane decided to chop off the points of the star. My theory: She had this block left over from a previous project but it was too big for the quilt, so she had to cut it down to size.
Foundation piecing once again.
Print or trace the block diagram onto your foundation paper. Number segments.
Foundation piece the individual sections.
Sew segments together. Make center square first, then add sides.
My block isn't actually wonky. I was just really bad at attaching the fabric straight. I may redo this one (or not).
