The Olympics are on! Expect lots of applique.
Cut a 6"x 6" square out of background fabric.
Using a disappearing or washable marker, mark the positions of all the melons on the right side of the fabric.
Using your preferred applique method, applique the melons into position.
I like to use "freezer paper inside" for melons.
Trim the block to 5" x 5".
Voila!

Gorgeous!!! I think I prefer freezer paper inside for melons too... it just makes placement soooo much easier.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you! When the winter olympics are on I tend to be sitting in front of the tv.

I like the Freezer paper too! You might get me to do this quilt yet....
ReplyDeleteLovely block!
ReplyDeleteNo freezer paper for me. I learned how to applique these shapes without using any paper.
With the time difference of 9 hours, I don’t think it’s wise to watch the Olympics at night and applique at the same time...LOL!
It's beautiful. I love the green fabric. This is going to look great!
