It's funny how time "heals all wounds". Most of the blocks I was sure I was going to remake now look OK. Finished is better than perfect, right?

This one, however, stuck out like a sore thumb, color-wise:

Since I'm trying to complete the top assembly today, I had to quickly make a substitute.
I used my own instructions. They work quite well, if I must say so myself.

  1. OK, I'll bite. What exactly was wrong with the first one? They both look just fine to me.

    Happy quilting,
    Susan in Texas

  2. Looks fine to me as well, unless it has turned out a little small.

  3. I agree with Susan in TX. What's the difference? They both look perfect to me!

  4. Yes, you wrote pretty amazing tutorials!!

I love the more subtle blue colour of the remake!

  5. The new version definitely fits in better, color-wise. Very pretty!

  6. Ah - I see why you changed it - you have mostly lighter colors in your quilt not so bright like this blue - I can see that one standing out :)
    It was perfectly made though!

  7. I love the more muted colors. Nice job!!!

  8. I love the boldness of the first block but seeing your overall color pallet, I can see why you chose to remake.

  9. i am totally gob smacked !! your quilt is amazing. i am trying to wait patiently for my charm squares to arrive so i can finally make my first quilt. i have been researching and reading up for nearly 10 years and am finally taking the time to do the sewing part !! i will post it on my blog when im done :)
